The Ministries of Our Church
Each of the ministries of our local
church is committed to fulfilling the principles of the Kingdom
of God : Righteousness, Peace and Joy. Our ministries focus
on social, spiritual and domestic righteousness, ending strife
and antagonism in relationships, and celebrating the love
we have received in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Our
ministries extend to every age group in the local church
and community. A brief description of each ministry follows:
Youth Ministries
The purpose of this ministry is
to reach out to teenagers. It exists to reach out to teens
from all socio-economic stages, to teach the eternal principles
of the Kingdom of God , to provide a healthy and encouraging
environment where teens feel free to explore their individuality
and build relations with other youth, and to support the
parents of teens in their attempts to strive for educational
achievement and spiritual maturity. Youth are given opportunities
for spiritual growth and to gain leadership experience by
coordinating, implementing and directing their own services
and activities.
Children's Ministries
The
mission of the Children’s
Ministry is to encourage healthy relationships, to instill
a holistic world view of diversity and love, to teach the
principles of loyalty and respect, and to honor God as Creator
and Lover of our souls. The Children’s Ministries operate
every Sunday morning with average attendance of fifty. Parents
and children come together for a special celebration time
on the third Friday evening of each month.
Christian Education
The Christian Education department
is dedicated to preparing, training and equipping our members
to more effectively share their faith and to become more
established in their knowledge of the Bible. Our Christian
Education Curriculum includes structured Sunday morning classes
for all ages (from nursery to senior citizens), a weekly
bible study, an annual Vacation Bible School , and in the
future the ministry is looking into a Summer Day Camp for
pre-adolescents.
Women's Ministry
The Women's Ministries of
this local church has a two-fold mission: 1) to coordinate
church/community-wide activities to raise funds and increase
awareness of international and local missions needs; and
2) to cultivate spiritual formation (bible study, prayer,
spiritual disciplines) and minister to the needs of women
in the Church and community.
Men's Ministry
The
Mission of the Men’s Ministry’s
is to ignite and unite men to be passionate followers of
Jesus Christ. Our Men’s Ministry is committed to: pursuing
vital relationships with other men; practicing spiritual,
moral, ethical, and sexual purity; building strong marriages
and families through love, protection and biblical values;
actively giving time and resources in service to the Church
and community; reaching beyond racial and denominational
barriers to demonstrate the power of biblical unity; and
influencing the world by fulfilling the Great Commandment.
Music Ministry
The purpose and passion of
our music ministry is to encourage the community in songs
that reflect hope, salvation and purpose. Our Music Ministry
ministers locally at Chateau Westmount (a home for the
elderly) and coordinates local fundraising events such
as concerts to finance their ministry to youth and adults
while traveling throughout Eastern Canada and the United
States . Our choirs include:
